Eckesachs

Eckesachs (Japanese: エッケザックス Eckesachs) is a regalia sword which first appears in Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade. It is one of the legendary weapons of the continent Elibe, and is one of the two weapons wielded by Hartmut of the Eight Generals during the Scouring, the other being the Binding Blade.
History
As with the other eight legendary weapons, Eckesachs was forged by humans during the Scouring for use by Hartmut, designed to pierce the defenses of dragons, and during battle its power was part of the cause of the Ending Winter. Eckesachs actually takes two distinct forms: in addition to the usual sword form it takes when attacked, when not in use it takes the form of a colossal spear- or trident-like weapon. Unlike the other legendary weapons it lacks an epithet giving it an elemental affiliation, but it is likely associated with lightning as it is charged by bolts of electricity when executing a critical hit, and it also hurls powerful shockwaves to attack from afar.
It is uncertain what happened to Eckesachs after the Scouring's immediate end, and whether or not it was sealed away like the other legendary weapons, but during the Disturbance of Bern it was wielded by King Zephiel of Bern, Hartmut's descendant. Following Zephiel's defeat, Eckesachs reacted to the presence of all the other legendary weapons in Roy's possession to point to the Dragon Sanctuary, where the fugitive Idenn awaited.

Eckesachs |
As of Fire Emblem Heroes. From the Old German ecke, "sharp" (in modern German it means "corner"), and sachs, "knife" or "sword." In the Eckenlied, it was the legendary sword of Theodoric the Great, who obtained it from a giant named Ecke.[1] There is therefore wordplay on the sword's name, as it was both Eckesachs ("sharp sword") and Ecken sachs ("Ecke's sword"). |
