Eagles, Lions, and Deer is a paralogue chapter in Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes. It is available starting from Chapter 5 on all routes on a file that has been played through with New Game+ twice. In order to attempt this paralogue, the player must have recruited Gatekeeper, and he must not have fallen in battle previously. In this chapter, Shez and Gatekeeper recall the time when Shez accidentally wandered into a mock battle between the Three Houses.

Plot

Main article: Eagles, Lions, and Deer/Script

One day, Shez strikes up a conversation with Gatekeeper, who has nothing to report as usual, and their conversation leads them to talk about Garreg Mach Monastery. Gatekeeper reminisces on the peaceful times before bringing up the time when Shez infamously interrupted a mock-battle between the Black Eagles, Blue Lions, and Golden Deer. Shez admits to their humiliation and thinks back to the day itself.

A flashback occurs where Shez has found themselves lost while wandering away from the monastery. Arval tries to guide them back, but Shez is drawn towards the sound of voices and finds themself in the middle of a battle led by Edelgard, Dimitri, and Claude. The house leaders, along with their classmates, express confusion as to Shez's presence but ultimately team up to try to defeat them.

After the battle, Claude and Dimitri express their congratulations to Shez, but Edelgard notes that it was an embarrassing failure that the three of them couldn't take on a single mercenary together. Edelgard asks Shez is there's something special about them to which they answer that they're just an ordinary mercenary. Claude notes that he, Dimitri, and Edelgard could work on developing their own relationships and teamwork skills with each other, and the two respond with agreement. Arval notes that the three leaders have the potential to get along and that if they can manage to do so, then peace is all but assured for Fódlan.

Trivia

  • Despite this chapter being Gatekeeper's paralogue, he cannot be deployed nor is he seen in the post-battle scene.
  • Most of the foes fought in this chapter are also fought in the chapter Three Houses, indicating that both mock battles are one and the same.
  • Across both Fire Emblem: Three Houses and Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes, this is the only chapter where the boss theme "Paths That Will Never Cross" plays before the timeskip.
