This is a list and summary of bonus chapters and downloadable content (colloquially abbreviated as DLC) available in Fire Emblem Engage.

Version History

Nintendo provides the following patch notes for the updates of Engage:[1]

Version 1.1.0

Release: January 19th, 2023

  • Added compatibility with Expansion Pass.
  • A link to the Nintendo eShop “DLC” has been added to the title screen.
  • Update Bonus has been added. You can receive items when entering the Somniel from Chapter 5 or later.
  • You can now use functions related to internet communications.

Version 1.2.0

Release: February 8th, 2023

  • Compatible with Wave 2 of the Expansion Pass.
  • From chapter 8 forward, you’ll be able to use the “Recreation” feature at the pool, orchard, and stable on the Somniel.
  • Fixed an issue in Relay Trials where “No data to take over.” would be displayed even if you selected “Random” from the “Take Over” section.
  • Issues have been fixed to make for a more pleasant gaming experience.

Version 1.3.0

Release: March 7th, 2023

  • Compatible with Wave 3 of the Expansion Pass.
  • From Chapter 7 forward, you’ll be able to exchange items at the ancient well on the Somniel.
    • You’ll need to talk to the proprietor of the armory.
  • You can now use Inherit Skills in the Arena.
  • Issues have been fixed to make for a more pleasant gaming experience.

Version 2.0.0

Release: April 4th, 2023

  • Compatible with Wave 4 of the Expansion Pass.
  • Update Bonus has been added. You can receive items when entering the Somniel from Chapter 5 or later.
  • Collaboration content with the smartphone app “Fire Emblem Heroes” can now be downloaded for free from the Nintendo eShop.
    • You can receive items when entering the Somniel after downloading the data from the eShop.
    • Note that players who have already downloaded the bonuses from linking with “Fire Emblem Heroes” cannot download the content again.
  • Issues have been fixed to make for a more pleasant gaming experience.

Free Updates

Features

Engage received additional features through updates. These features will be available to all players upon updating, regardless of whether they have purchased the Expansion Pass.

Recreation

From Version 1.2.0 onward, players can choose the Recreation feature at the Stable, Pool, or Orchard at the Somniel upon completing Chapter 8. The player is able to choose two allies for each of the three facilities. Pressing the L Button will automatically choose a pair of units. Players can then choose to either watch a short cutscene of the characters interacting with the facilities, or to skip to the results directly. Either will raise the support points of the chosen allies. Each facility can only be used once between battles.

Ancient Well

From Version 1.3.0 onward, players are able to convert items through the Ancient Well. By disposing of up to five items, they can get a random set of new items after their next battle. The amount and quality of the weapons they obtain is based on the value of the items they disposed. This feature is unlocked by talking to the proprietor at the armory upon completing Chapter 6.

Some weapons were introduced along with this feature, and can be obtained randomly by disposing items at the Ancient Well:

Inheriting Skills from the Arena

From Version 1.3.0 onward, players are able to inherit skills directly from the arena through an additional menu option. Prior to this update, Skills could only be obtained by entering the Ring Vault at the Somniel.

Expansion Pass

The Engage expansion pass grants access to most of the game's DLC. The contents of the Expansion Pass were released in waves at different times; these waves are not available for individual purchase.

The Engage Expansion Pass includes two kinds of additional chapters: Divine Paralogues, allowing the player to obtain an additional Emblem Bracelet, and additional scenario chapters that are part of the Fell Xenologue campaign.

Emblems

Most Emblem Bracelets are obtained by completing the Emblem's Divine Paralogue chapters. Divine Paralogues become available upon completing Chapter 6. Initially, only The Ancestor is available to the player, but upon completion of the chapter, all remaining Divine Paralogues can be played in any order. Enemies in Divine Paralouges will get stronger as the player makes progress in the main story.

Order of Heroes Item Set

Coinciding with the release of Engage, a free promotional crossover event with Fire Emblem Heroes was released, providing 5 Orbs in Heroes, and the ability to acquire the Fólkvangr, Fensalir, and Nóatún weapons and S-Rank Bond Rings of Alfonse, Sharena, and Anna in Engage. The event providing 5 Orbs ended on April 5, 2023, and thereafter the free DLC with only the Engage items began to be distributed via the Nintendo eShop.

If either method is used, the weapons will automatically be added to the player's convoy when they enter the Somniel for the first time after completing Chapter 5. Players who obtained the weapons through the Fire Emblem Heroes promotional crossover cannot obtain duplicates by downloading them throgh the Nintendo eShop.
