===Analysis=== | ===Analysis===
analysis | analysis | ||
Dorothea is | Dorothea is one of the Black Eagles' magic-oriented characters. Her growths in Magic, Dexterity, Speed, and Resistance are decent, but she has poor Strength and Defense growths. Dorothea's spell selection elevates her despite her moderate magic growth. The elusive Thoron spell allows Dorothea to attack from three spaces away, mitigating her poor defenses. Dorothea can also use Thoron from four spaces away while turning her other two-range spells into three-range spells with the Caduceus Staff. Dorothea learns Meteor when she reaches A-rank in Reason. Only Dorothea and Hanneman can learn this spell, and only Hilda, Manuela and Constance can learn the comparable Bolting. Hilda's base and growth in Magic are both low, Manuela has a Reason bane, and Constance requires DLC. Meteor's high might combined with Fiendish Blow and Battalion bonuses can one shot enemies or weaken tough foes from afar. Meteor also allows Dorothea to give support and gambit bonuses to allies from up to ten spaces away depending on her skills and equipment. Finally, Dorothea has access to Physic, allowing her to support allies remotely. Even though all magic classes are restricted to four movement until the Master-class tier, Dorothea's ranged magic options help her stay relevant in both combat and support roles. Another excellent tool in her kit is Hexblade, which can outdamage any of her spells with the right sword in exchange for only working at one range.
Dorothea's budding talent is in Faith, one of her initial banes. Most players will be discouraged by Dorothea's Faith bane, but in just twelve instruction sessions, she will gain a Faith boon, allowing her to gain White Magic Avo +20 and reach Physic faster. White Magic Avo +20 gives Dorothea an extra 20 Avoid when she has a faith spell equipped. While this sounds good on paper, her only offensive Faith spell is Nosferatu, which is weak and heavy, potentially negating the skill's benefits. Also, as a magic-enabled class with four movement, Dorothea will struggle to reach the front lines to use her limited ability to dodgetank. Physic is a fantastic support option, though, so unlocking the budding talent in Faith is still recommended - just to reach C-rank for Physic more quickly.
Dorothea's excellent spell pool and low strength and defense growths make her unsuitable for melee combat. Her best class promotion line is Monk to Mage, then Warlock or Bishop. Her best master class is subjective. Gremory, for instance, offers double Thoron, Meteor, and Physic spell uses. One can also make Dorothea a Dancer. Dorothea gains six movement as a dancer, allowing her to support her allies in an additional way while retaining her offense as a mage. One can also try to promote Dorothea to a Dark Knight or (with DLC) a Valkyrie or Dark Flier for increased mobility and Canto, but due to her banes in Riding and Flying, this will take a long time. Finally, Mortal Savant makes an unusually good choice for Dorothea due to granting her six movement without having to fight through a bane and giving her great killing power with both her spells and Hexblade.
====Recruiting for Other Routes==== | ====Recruiting for Other Routes====
Dorothea will be trained in Swords and Reason magic when recruited in Part 1. Not only does Dorothea have amazing ranged options in Thoron and Meteor, but she also has a good magic growth. She lacks the raw power of Annette and Lysithea but makes up for it with her ranged offensive and supportive magic, making her a valuable addition to any team. In addition to this, Dorothea is easy to recruit as she requires Byleth to have skill in Authority and Charm, both of which can be developed easily via tea times with students and Church members.

Dorothea was | There are three different variations of Dorothea available to Heroes, two of which are based on her Three Houses incarnation and one of which is based on her Warriors: Three Hopes incarnation, and none of which are her normal variation. A summer-themed variation of Dorothea was made available between the period of July 8, 2020 through August 8, 2020 as part of the summoning event surrounding the launch of the Overseas Memories update. A desert-themed variation of Dorothea was made available between the period of January 18, 2021 through February 18, 2021 as part of the summoning event surrounding the launch of the Dark Desert Rituals update; this variation is a Harmonized Hero, carrying a dual-credit with Genealogy of the Holy War as a result of being paired up with Lene. A winter-themed variation, based on her Warriors: Three Hopes incarnation, was made available between December 16, 2022, through January 16, 2023, as part of the Holiday Handoff summoning event. Dorothea is the first character to have been made available in multiple special variations without a normal variation available anywhere in the game files<!--Veronica has more special variations than Dorothea does without her normal variation being playable, but her normal variation has been in the game files since its initial launch-->.

On the surface level, Dorothea is a promiscuous flirt and tease. She is known to date numerous men, and when questioned about her dating habits, she does not see them as a problem. However, the reason she is shamelessly dating dozens of candidates is to find the perfect partner. Dorothea believes that her beauty and fame as a songstress will eventually fade, and therefore, she needs to quickly look for someone who will take care of her. In fact, she wants to be taken care of so much that when she thinks Byleth is interested in doing that, she immediately feels surprised and happy.
Dorothea thinks that most people have only ever been interested in her because she is a young, pretty, and popular singer, and that she will go back to the streets when she grows old and can no longer sing as well. Therefore, she is trying to exploit what makes people interested in her to secure a future, so that does not need to be a pretty singer later on. Deep down, she wants to be loved by someone for who she is, not what she is; however, she finds that unlikely to happen, and struggles to believe that someone would, such as when Byleth proposes to her. She strongly believes that being a diva is her only value to most people, and when her charms do not seem to work, she quickly loses confidence and feels vulnerable. Dorothea is so accustomed to trying to be charming that when she learns Ingrid never did that, she is flabbergasted, especially since she considers Ingrid beautiful enough to pull it off even without makeup. Dorothea even briefly tries to flirt with Ingrid, but is immediately turned down. She secretly feels ashamed about exploiting her charm so much, because she considers it selfish, and she feels like she possesses no other strengths, to the point that she wonders if she even belongs in Garreg Mach.
In her interactions with others, Dorothea's insecurity generally does not show. She is completely comfortable around most people, even intimidating individuals such as Hubert, citation needed<!--quote does not support claim that Dorothea intimidated Hubert--> and she is bold enough to poke fun at them, such as when she questions Hubert's devotion to Edelgard and when she compares Edelgard to a character from an opera. However, because many nobles looked down on her before she became a popular songstress, she is inherently distrustful of them, especially if they are nice to her. Her interactions with nobility, such as Ferdinand and Lorenz, reveal her belief that nobles tend to look down on commoners, and she considers Ferdinand the perfect example of a noble who is only kind to her now because she became popular, at least until he changes her mind. She is also quick to call out Sylvain on being a womanizer who seems to actually hate women. Linhardt, on the other hand, repeatedly surprises Dorothea again by being different from most nobles by – for example – shunning the concepts of pride and charm. He believes that Dorothea cares too much about the opinions of others and is shackled by her traumatizing past; though Dorothea does not disagree, she finds herself unable to let go of her insecurities.
Despite her flaws, Dorothea is a likable individual who is very supportive toward her friends and she is even able to earn Hubert's respect.<ref>{{cite|Your contribution to our cause has been noteworthy. I've no complaints about your battle prowess either. When the damage from the war had finally healed, the pair once again retreated from the stage, this time retiring to a private life together. It is said that their relationship was full of light and love.
Dorothea, Devoted Heart & | Dorothea, Devoted Heart & Yuri, Underground Lord<br>
A new opera company was born of the postwar rebuilding period. This troupe, headed up by a former songstress, was comprised of hand-picked talent from all walks of life. Though it began humbly, over the years it grew to rival even the Mittelfrank Opera Company in its greatness. The most popular production in its repertoire was a tale of a disillusioned songstress making a comeback with the help of her ambitious lover. Through that story, the names of Yuri and Dorothea live on to this very day.

“ | I sang, people cheered and applauded, and when I walked off stage, I'd find the same thing every night. A mountain of presents and marriage proposals. But none of those people knew me. All they knew was the singer they saw on stage. | ” | — Dorothea to Sylvain |

Dorothea Arnault (pronounced /ˌdɔɹə'θiə/[key]; Japanese: ドロテア=アールノルト Dorothea Arnold) is a playable character appearing in Fire Emblem: Three Houses. She is a student at the Officers Academy and a member of the Black Eagles.
Biography
Dorothea was born as the daughter of a maid to a nobleman in the Adrestian Empire. At a very young age her mother was forced out of the house where she worked and died of illness shortly thereafter. Dorothea was then left as an orphan to beg on the streets where she would sometimes sing alone.[2] One time, she was overheard by some people, who invited her to become a songstress in the Mittelfrank Opera. In the Mittelfrank Opera, she met Manuela and started to look up to her. During her time in the Opera, she was kidnapped, assaulted and almost assassinated, but she learned to defend herself. In Imperial Year 1180, she left the Opera, entered the Officers Academy, and joined the Black Eagles house, learning and fighting alongside them.
After the timeskip, if Dorothea is a member of Byleth's class, she returns to Garreg Mach Monastery on the day of the millennium festival and accompanies them throughout the war. Should Dorothea not be recruited on the Azure Moon and Verdant Wind routes, she rejoins the Adrestian Empire post-timeskip and defends Enbarr from Byleth's chosen faction, either on the city's streets alongside Hubert and a non-recruited Petra on Azure Moon, or in the imperial palace in Verdant Wind along with Petra and Edelgard. She can be circumvented or slain at the player's discretion.
Fire Emblem: Three Houses
Role
Dorothea is a starting playable character for the Black Eagles route, a recruitable unit on the Blue Lions and Golden Deer routes and a recurring enemy should she not be recruited during Part I.

Analysis
This character analysis section may not be accurate to every player's experience. |
Dorothea is one of the Black Eagles' magic-oriented characters.
Recruiting for Other Routes
Dorothea will be trained in Swords and Reason magic when recruited in Part 1. Not only does Dorothea have amazing ranged options in Thoron and Meteor, but she also has a good magic growth. She lacks the raw power of Annette and Lysithea but makes up for it with her ranged offensive and supportive magic, making her a valuable addition to any team. In addition to this, Dorothea is easy to recruit as she requires Byleth to have skill in Authority and Charm, both of which can be developed easily via tea times with students and Church members.
Fire Emblem Heroes
Role
There are three different variations of Dorothea available to Heroes, two of which are based on her Three Houses incarnation and one of which is based on her Warriors: Three Hopes incarnation, and none of which are her normal variation. Dorothea is the first character to have been made available in multiple special variations without a normal variation available anywhere in the game files.

Personality
On the surface level, Dorothea is a promiscuous flirt and tease. She is known to date numerous men, and when questioned about her dating habits, she does not see them as a problem.[3] However, the reason she is shamelessly dating dozens of candidates is to find the perfect partner. Dorothea believes that her beauty and fame as a songstress will eventually fade, and therefore, she needs to quickly look for someone who will take care of her.[4][5] In fact, she wants to be taken care of so much that when she thinks Byleth is interested in doing that, she immediately feels surprised and happy.[6]
Dorothea thinks that most people have only ever been interested in her because she is a young, pretty, and popular singer, and that she will go back to the streets when she grows old and can no longer sing as well.[7] Therefore, she is trying to exploit what makes people interested in her to secure a future, so that does not need to be a pretty singer later on. Deep down, she wants to be loved by someone for who she is, not what she is;[8] however, she finds that unlikely to happen, and struggles to believe that someone would, such as when Byleth proposes to her.[9] She strongly believes that being a diva is her only value to most people,[10] and when her charms do not seem to work, she quickly loses confidence and feels vulnerable.[11][12] Dorothea is so accustomed to trying to be charming that when she learns Ingrid never did that, she is flabbergasted,[13] especially since she considers Ingrid beautiful enough to pull it off even without makeup.[14] Dorothea even briefly tries to flirt with Ingrid, but is immediately turned down.[15] She secretly feels ashamed about exploiting her charm so much, because she considers it selfish,[16] and she feels like she possesses no other strengths,[17][18] to the point that she wonders if she even belongs in Garreg Mach.
In her interactions with others, Dorothea's insecurity generally does not show. She is completely comfortable around most people, even intimidating individuals such as Hubert,[19][citation needed] and she is bold enough to poke fun at them, such as when she questions Hubert's devotion to Edelgard[20] and when she compares Edelgard to a character from an opera.[21] However, because many nobles looked down on her before she became a popular songstress, she is inherently distrustful of them, especially if they are nice to her. Her interactions with nobility, such as Ferdinand and Lorenz, reveal her belief that nobles tend to look down on commoners,[22][23] and she considers Ferdinand the perfect example of a noble who is only kind to her now because she became popular,[24] at least until he changes her mind. She is also quick to call out Sylvain on being a womanizer who seems to actually hate women.[25] Linhardt, on the other hand, repeatedly surprises Dorothea again by being different from most nobles by – for example – shunning the concepts of pride[26] and charm.[27] He believes that Dorothea cares too much about the opinions of others[28][29][30] and is shackled by her traumatizing past;[31] though Dorothea does not disagree, she finds herself unable to let go of her insecurities.[32]
Despite her flaws, Dorothea is a likable individual who is very supportive toward her friends[33] and whom many people look up to. Bernadetta openly idolizes Dorothea and thinks they could never be friends,[34] Petra has immense gratitude toward her for being kind,[35] and she is even able to earn Hubert's respect.[36] Even though Felix initially mistreats her and makes negative assumptions about her, he is able to change his mind because he realizes she is not who she seems to be on the surface.[37] Manuela, who is Dorothea's primary idol and inspiration, has a great deal of respect for Dorothea as well, both for her ability to overcome obstacles[38] and for being immensely talented as a songstress.[39]

Endings
Dorothea, Mystical Songstress (single ending)
Dorothea returned to the Mittelfrank Opera as soon as the war was over. Thanks to her talent, the company enjoyed a resurgence in popularity that lasted well beyond the end of her own career. Once she gave up her position as a songstress, she settled down to a private life of peace and quiet. It is said that she was very happily married.
Byleth, Wandering Flame/Ruler of Dawn & Dorothea, Devoted Heart (Silver Snow, Verdant Wind)
After ascending the throne as the first leader of the United Kingdom of Fódlan, Byleth announced <his/her> marriage to Dorothea. The former songstress resolved to stay out of the public eye, keeping to herself and her family, but as Byleth worked tirelessly to restore Fódlan, she did offer advice from time to time. It is said that her experience growing up as a commoner provided a useful perspective. Many years later, her diary was uncovered, revealing the full extent of the happy life the couple shared. The love poems that they wrote to one another were published as a collection.
Byleth, Guardian of Order & Dorothea, Devoted Heart (Azure Moon)
After taking on the role of archbishop of the Church of Seiros, Byleth announced <his/her> marriage to Dorothea. The former songstress resolved to stay out of the public eye, keeping to herself and her family, but as the archbishop worked tirelessly to restore Fódlan and the church, she did privately offer advice from time to time. It is said that her experience growing up as a commoner provided a useful perspective. Many years later, her diary was uncovered, revealing the full extent of the happy life the couple shared. The love poems that they wrote to one another were published as a collection.
Byleth, Wings of the Hegemon & Dorothea, Devoted Heart (Crimson Flower)
Almost immediately after the modest wedding ceremony between Byleth and Dorothea was over, the battle against those who slither in the dark began in earnest. Dorothea chose not to take the field of battle with a weapon but rather to tend the household in her spouse's absence and provide emotional support to <his/her> effort to bring lasting peace to Fódlan. Many years after the war had ended, Dorothea's diary was uncovered, revealing the full extent of the happy life the couple shared. The love poems that they wrote to one another were published as a collection.
Edelgard, Flame Emperor & Dorothea, Mystical Songstress
As Edelgard's reign as the Adrestian emperor began, Enbarr was restored, and with it, a certain opera house. Soon the Mittelfrank Opera Company put together a war drama depicting the journey and sacrifice of the emperor and her companions, and the starring role went to none other than Dorothea. Edelgard initially forbade the company from staging it, but was eventually persuaded by Dorothea's passionate performance to rescind that decree. It is said that the emperor always set aside time to enjoy the opera thereafter.
Hubert, Emperor's Confidant & Dorothea, Mystical Songstress
After the war, the Mittelfrank Opera Company made a resurgence, in no small part thanks to the patronage of Emperor Edelgard's confidant, Hubert. Dorothea made a comeback as a songstress within the troupe, which traveled all over Fódlan, putting a large share of its profits toward relief efforts. The opera company was warmly welcomed by the war-weary people as a source of solace, and became even more famous than before. It was not discovered until many years later that the troupe's tour had been a covert operation, coordinated by Hubert and Dorothea to gather intelligence for the Empire.
Ferdinand, Noblest of Nobles & Dorothea, Devoted Heart (Silver Snow, Azure Moon, Verdant Wind)
After officially becoming the new Duke Aegir, Ferdinand set about reforming his territory. Thanks to the wisdom of his wife, Dorothea, Ferdinand's policies were of massive benefit to the commonfolk and brought about a swift recovery. In recognition of this achievement, he was called upon to help govern to Fódlan at large. Though the work of reforming the entire nation kept him very busy, he always managed to find time for Dorothea. It is said that their children filled their loving household with beautiful music ever after.
Ferdinand, Noblest of Nobles & Dorothea, Devoted Heart (Crimson Flower)
After officially becoming the new Duke Aegir, Ferdinand set about reforming his territory. Thanks to the wisdom of his wife, Dorothea, Ferdinand's policies were of massive benefit to the commonfolk and brought about a swift recovery. In recognition of this achievement, he was called upon by Emperor Edelgard to introduce these reforms to the Empire at large as the new prime minister. Though the work kept him very busy, he always managed to find time for Dorothea. It is said that their children filled their loving household with beautiful music ever after.
Linhardt, Ragamuffin Sage & Dorothea, Devoted Heart
After the war, Linhardt decided to inherit his title. He spent several years studying his territory, learning to manage its affairs, and when he was finally ready to become the new Count Hevring, he announced his marriage to Dorothea. Somehow, despite all this activity, Linhardt actually managed to keep up with his Crest studies. Though his results were dubious at times, his new wife helped him alter them so that they would be of use to people. Their relationship was unlike anything the nobility had ever witnessed. When faced with this accusation, Linhardt and Dorothea could only laugh and note that the past was of no significance to them.
Caspar, Roaming Instigator & Dorothea, Devoted Heart (Silver Snow, Azure Moon, Verdant Wind)
After the war, Caspar set out alone on a journey of self-discovery. He traveled to every corner of Fódlan, and even ventured abroad now and again. Though his antics found him no end of exciting adventures, he was always drawn back to Dorothea, who had returned to the Mittelfrank Opera Company in Enbarr after the war. The two spent more and more time together over the years, and when Dorothea's efforts brought the opera house to the peak of its resurgence, she relinquished her position as songstress and disappeared from the stage. It is rumored that the pair spent the rest of their lives together.
Caspar, Hotheaded General & Dorothea, Devoted Heart (Crimson Flower)
In recognition of his achievements during the war, Caspar was given the title of Minister of Military Affairs in the new Adrestian Empire. Though his command developed a reputation for occasional recklessness, he proved an able leader, guiding his troops to overcome countless obstacles. In his personal life, he began to spend a great deal of time with Dorothea, who had returned to the Mittelfrank Opera Company after the war. When her efforts brought the opera house to the peak of its resurgence, it is said that Dorothea relinquished her position as songstress in order to retire with Caspar. They are rumored to have spent the rest of their lives together.
Dorothea, Devoted Heart & Petra, Queen of Brigid
Petra returned to her homeland of Brigid, and inherited the throne from her grandfather. As ruler, she declared independence from Fódlan, and renegotiated Brigid's diplomatic ties to that nation on more equal terms. At every step along the way, she was accompanied by Dorothea, who had left Fódlan behind to support her. Dorothea used the connections she had made in her time at the opera to her benefit, and even worked reluctantly with the Fódlan nobility for Petra's sake. The people of Brigid were skeptical of her at first, but warmed up to her over time. It is said that she became the person whom Petra loved the most.
Dorothea, Mystical Songstress & Felix, Meandering Sword (Silver Snow, Verdant Wind, Crimson Flower)
Even after the war's end, skirmishes continued to break out across Fódlan. Learning that there were still places where he could fight, Felix abandoned his noble title and chose to make a living with his sword. He traveled the land, and some years later found himself in Enbarr. There he encountered Dorothea, who had just resumed her career as a songstress in the opera. From that time on, no matter how far Felix traveled, he always found himself drawn back to that opera house. It is said that, when Dorothea saw his face in the crowd, she sang only for him.
Dorothea, Devoted Heart & Felix, The Shield's Successor (Azure Moon)
After the war, Felix inherited the title of Duke Fraldarius from his late father, Rodrigue. He married Dorothea, and the two began a happy life together. After they had finished restoring Fraldarius territory, Felix traveled across Fódlan as the king's right hand. Dorothea traveled with him always, and even threw herself into battle alongside him every so often. Tales of their bravery endured for generations, thanks in no small part to the operas that Dorothea wrote and composed herself.
Dorothea, Devoted Heart & Sylvain, Sincerest of Knights
After more than 10 proposals, Dorothea finally relented and agreed to marry Sylvain. Together they inherited Gautier territory. With the support of his wife's counsel, the new Margrave Gautier was able to improve relations with the Sreng people, and thereby convince the local nobles that Relics and Crests were no longer an absolute requirement for survival. Due to their efforts, they went down in history as an extraordinary lord and lady. It is said that what finally convinced Dorothea to marry Sylvain was his promise that they would grow old happily together, and that he was true to his word.
Dorothea, Divine Songstress & Lorenz, Noble of the Red Rose
As the new head of House Gloucester, Lorenz first worked to restore his own territory, and then expanded his vision to include reforms for all Fódlan. At the height of his storied political career, he announced his marriage to Dorothea, who had returned to prominence with the Mittelfrank Opera Company. The elaborate wedding was the most talked-about social event of the season, and the fashions on display from the savvy nobleman and the stylish songstress set the trends with young people across Fódlan for a decade.
Dorothea, Devoted Heart & Hanneman, Father of Crestology
Though Fódlan had changed, Hanneman's goal remained unwavering: to determine the workings of the Crests, and to do away with the inequality caused by them. To that end, his research resulted in magical tools which could be used even without the aid of Crests. This proved to be yet another worthwhile discovery by the Father of Crestology. Hanneman also became a father in more literal sense, by raising many children with his wife, Dorothea. Their marriage was not publicly known, however, as the songstress elected to keep it secret for the sake of both of their careers.
Dorothea, Mystical Songstress & Manuela, Divine Songstress
The Mittelfrank Opera Company was on the brink of collapse until two of its star songstresses, Manuela and Dorothea, returned to the stage and brought the troupe new life and prominence. They toured all around Fódlan, sometimes even visiting troops on the front lines, soothing hearts with their beautiful songs wherever they went, and donating their profits to the relief and rebuilding effort. When the damage from the war had finally healed, the pair once again retreated from the stage, this time retiring to a private life together. It is said that their relationship was full of light and love.
Dorothea, Devoted Heart & Yuri, Underground Lord
A new opera company was born of the postwar rebuilding period. This troupe, headed up by a former songstress, was comprised of hand-picked talent from all walks of life. Though it began humbly, over the years it grew to rival even the Mittelfrank Opera Company in its greatness. The most popular production in its repertoire was a tale of a disillusioned songstress making a comeback with the help of her ambitious lover. Through that story, the names of Yuri and Dorothea live on to this very day.

- ↑ "No, it's fine. As I'm sure you know, I was a highly praised songstress for a time... Before I was a singer though, I was an orphan. And before that I was the daughter of a noble's maid. [...] Well, I don't remember much of my early years. My father was never there, and my mother was driven out of the noble house where she worked. Before long, she fell ill... I was always alone, and I lived in the alleys of the Imperial capital, just trying to survive from one day to the next." — Dorothea, in her and Hanneman's B support, Fire Emblem: Three Houses
- ↑ "Byleth: That's a different guy than I saw you with yesterday.
Dorothea: Yes... Is there a problem with that?" — Byleth and Dorothea, in their C support conversation, Fire Emblem: Three Houses - ↑ "Look, I know what I'm doing. My acclaim as a diva won't last forever, after all. I must look to the future. As a man, you may not feel so rushed about these things, but I know my beauty will eventually fade." — Dorothea, to Byleth in their C support conversation, Fire Emblem: Three Houses
- ↑ "Anyway, I'm not just playing games with these boys. This is for my future. You have no right to object. I very much want to find a good partner here at the academy. Someone who will take care of me for the rest of my life." — Dorothea, to Byleth in their C support conversation, Fire Emblem: Three Houses
- ↑ "You aren't being serious, are you? I was just teasing. Or did you really just consider spending your whole life with me? If you did that...that actually makes me... It makes me happy. I had no idea you might look at me that way." — Dorothea, to Byleth in their C support conversation, Fire Emblem: Three Houses
- ↑ "I was an orphan, living in the back alleys of Enbarr, until one day I was overheard singing... That was when my new life began. I was suddenly a songstress in the Mittelfrank Opera Company. Performers, nobility... I met so many people. But none of them ever really knew me. I was just some young, pretty girl who could sing, a spectacle to be admired. Even though everyone praised my looks and my voice, and they showered me with gifts... I knew, one day, I'd be old. My looks would fade, my voice would change, I wouldn't sound the same. And I started to wonder, when I did get old, what would I have left? I'd be old, alone...and back on the streets of the capital, right where I'd started." — Dorothea, to Byleth in their A support conversation, Fire Emblem: Three Houses
- ↑ "[...] I keep searching for someone who will love me. Someone unaware of the songstress, who can love a girl that used to be scared and alone on the streets of the capital... I wonder if such a strange person can even exist." — Dorothea, to Byleth in their A support conversation, Fire Emblem: Three Houses
- ↑ "Are you sure? You want to spend your life with...me? Even though I'm not a songstress anymore? And I don't come from a noble family or have any wealth or land to my name? You won the war. You could pick anyone in the world. Why would you..." — Dorothea, to Byleth in their S support conversation, Fire Emblem: Three Houses
- ↑ "The thing is, I don't have anything to call my own. No land, no birthright, no fortune. Little knowledge or battle skill. I think that's why I always clung to my popularity as a diva. Even after leaving the stage behind, I sort of kept up the act." — Dorothea, to Byleth in their B support conversation, Fire Emblem: Three Houses
- ↑ "Would I be right in assuming you're not very... experienced with romance? Maybe we should find out somehow... Um... Professor? What's with you? Why aren't you reacting to anything I'm doing? Oh, come on! Is your heart even beating? You're making me lose my confidence..." — Dorothea, to Byleth in their B support conversation, Fire Emblem: Three Houses
- ↑ "When I look at you, it's like your eyes are accusing me... Telling me that you see right through it. That's what I mean when I say it's difficult being around you." — Dorothea, to Byleth in their B support conversation, Fire Emblem: Three Houses
- ↑ "I'm sorry. I...I shouldn't be so hard on you. I was just surprised is all. A gal like you? You're a beautiful young noblewoman... Who somehow has no experience with either makeup or fashion. This is basic stuff, Ingrid. The basics of the basics, really." — Dorothea, to Ingrid in their B support conversation, Fire Emblem: Three Houses
- ↑ "My real point is that you're quite lovely even before getting all fixed up. Absolutely bewitching, in fact." — Dorothea, to Ingrid in their B support conversation, Fire Emblem: Three Houses
- ↑ "Dorothea:Someone looking at you could be forgiven for... wanting to pounce.
Ingrid: Could they be? I don't know that I'd forgive them.
Dorothea: Oh, I know. That's why, just before I lunge, I'm gonna ask permission.
Ingrid: Permission is not granted - ever! Just back off." — Dorothea and Ingrid, in their B support conversation, Fire Emblem: Three Houses - ↑ "The truth is, I agree with them. Selfish as I am, I curried favor with a noble so I could enroll here. An orphan like me, here. Crazy, right?" — Dorothea, to Linhardt in their B+ support conversation, Fire Emblem: Three Houses
- ↑ "Everyone else here is noble or rich or both. I don't deserve any of this." — Dorothea, to Linhardt in their B+ support conversation, in Part 1, Fire Emblem: Three Houses
- ↑ "And now, to be leading troops as one of the professor's generals... I'm way out of my league." — Dorothea, to Linhardt in their B+ support conversation, in Part 2, Fire Emblem: Three Houses
- ↑ "Hubie, I don't get you. Although I do find your point of view just fascinating..." — Dorothea, to Hubert in their C support conversation, Fire Emblem: Three Houses
- ↑ "Ahh, I knew it! That's why you work so hard for Edie! Oh, Hubie, I finally get you. You're just another servant suffering from unrequited love for their mistress." — Dorothea, to Hubert in their B support conversation, Fire Emblem: Three Houses
- ↑ "You always say such preposterous and extraordinary things, Edie. Yet somehow, you actually make it work for you. It's like you're a character from an opera." — Dorothea, to Edelgard in their C support conversation, Fire Emblem: Three Houses
- ↑ "The brains of us commonfolk are so simple, it should be pretty easy for a big-shot noble to sort out." — Dorothea, to Ferdinand in their C support conversation, Fire Emblem: Three Houses
- ↑ "Are we so unpleasant to speak to, us commoners?" — Dorothea, to Lorenz in their C support conversation, Fire Emblem: Three Houses
- ↑ "You glared at me, the same look I'd gotten from every other noble. Then you ran off. When we met at the academy, you were a different person. All smiles and friendly words. You were like a bee, Ferdinand. A bee attracted to a flower in full bloom." — Dorothea, to Ferdinand in their A support conversation, Fire Emblem: Three Houses
- ↑ "Your social standing isn't bad, and you're not bad to look at or particularly dumb. You could easily be engaged by now. But you just flit from one woman to the next without settling on anyone. I bet you enjoy going out with them, but you hate women themselves." — Dorothea, to Sylvain in their C support conversation, Fire Emblem: Three Houses
- ↑ "What use is pride? It doesn't feed nor clothe you. It offers no warmth on a cold night." — Linhardt, to Dorothea in their C support conversation, Fire Emblem: Three Houses
- ↑ "And how necessary is charm? It just gets in the way of living your life." — Linhardt, to Dorothea in their C support conversation, Fire Emblem: Three Houses
- ↑ "But your life is your own business. It's not something that can be affected by the petty words of a stranger." — Linhardt, to Dorothea in their B support conversation, Fire Emblem: Three Houses
- ↑ "As for those two gossips? Unimportant. I suggest forgetting all about them and their petty words." — Linhardt, to Dorothea in their B support conversation, Fire Emblem: Three Houses
- ↑ "I see before me a great woman who should not be bothered by idle gossip." — Linhardt, to Dorothea in their B+ support conversation, Fire Emblem: Three Houses
- ↑ "You've probably overcome a lot of tough times, haven't you? I think that's incredible, really, but why not just let go of the suffering and run away from the memories that cause you pain? I suspect you'll find it a better way of living. I know I do." — Linhardt, to Dorothea in their B+ support conversation, Fire Emblem: Three Houses
- ↑ "What an example... I don't quite get it, but I am a bit envious of you. Still, I can't live the way you do." — Dorothea, to Linhardt in their B+ support conversation, Fire Emblem: Three Houses
- ↑ "Just know that you never have to worry about putting me out. I like helping my friends." — Dorothea, to Petra in their C support conversation, Fire Emblem: Three Houses
- ↑ "Just look at Dorothea. So pretty, popular, dazzling... There's no way someone like me could ever be close with someone like that." — Bernadetta, about Dorothea in their C support conversation, Fire Emblem: Three Houses
- ↑ "Before, I had confusion. I thought you were being overly familiar. But then I gained understanding. Now I am knowing that is how you show your kindness, and I have much gratitude for that. It is impossible to be imagining life without you. You are...precious to me." — Petra, to Dorothea in their A support conversation, Fire Emblem: Three Houses
- ↑ "Your contribution to our cause has been noteworthy. I've no complaints about your battle prowess either. And if you were able to walk the path as I do...that would be something very special." — Hubert, to Dorothea in their A support conversation, Fire Emblem: Three Houses
- ↑ "Perhaps I had you all wrong. I thought you were just a frivolous girl who cared only for men of status. On the contrary, you seem well aware of the realities of the world. I respect that." — Felix, to Dorothea in their A support conversation, Fire Emblem: Three Houses
- ↑ "Well, bravo and well-done. You've always had to find your own way in life, haven't you? I so wish you could rely on people more often..." — Manuela, to Dorothea in their C support conversation, Fire Emblem: Three Houses
- ↑ "I have to tell you something. The first time I saw you on stage, I felt you were the one I wanted to hear sing. I already had plans to leave the opera company, but when I met you... I knew I couldn't leave until I saw you take your rightful place." — Manuela, to Dorothea in their A support conversation, Fire Emblem: Three Houses
- ↑ "Dorothea Arnault, às ordens. Sou membro das Águias negras no monastério Garreg Mach." — Dorothea: Solar Songstress when being summoned, Fire Emblem Heroes
