Distant Ward (Japanese: 明鏡の反撃・遠距離 Long-Distance Mirror Counterattack) is a passive type A skill which debuted in Fire Emblem Heroes; unlike most passive skills in Heroes, Distant Ward comes in only one tier. Contrary to what its name implies, Distant Ward does not deal specifically with range-2 targets; Distant Ward boosts its wielder's Attack and Resistance during combat when a target wielding a red tome, blue tome, green tome, colorless tome, staff, or any color of breath skill initiates combat against its wielder, and also allows its wielder to counterattack regardless of its target's range.
