Sacred Stone

This is Darkling Woods... It was here the heroes met the Demon King and with the Sacred Stones defeated him. I've heard the lingering energies of that battle are the source of the monsters.

Plot

Main articles: Darkling Woods/Script (Eirika) and Darkling Woods/Script (Ephraim)

Lyon approaches the temple in the heart of Darkling Woods, and encounters Morva. In Eirika's route, Morva instantly recognizes Fomortiis, while Fomortiis taunts him by bringing up his daughter, Myrrh, who is traveling to Darkling Woods. In Ephraim's route, Morva attempts to convince Lyon that the Demon King is in control and has changed him, but is unsuccessful. In both routes, Morva resolves to kill Lyon to prevent the return of the Demon King.

At the same time, the group nears the temple; they are put off by the Darkling Woods. Myrrh states that the state of the Woods has worsened; she also explains that she lived there guarding the temple with Morva, her foster father. Myrrh then begins to feel unwell as Seth informs the group that monsters are approaching them. Lyon, having killed Morva, reanimates his body, then leaves Riev to guard the temple. As the battle begins, Riev celebrates that the Demon King will soon return.

After the battle, once the temple is seized, the twins resolve to stop the ritual to resurrect the Demon King quickly. Myrrh, knowing Morva is dead, laments the death of her father. In Eirika's route, Eirika comforts Myrrh; Myrrh states that she met with her father and he cannot meet the group, though she does tell Eirika of how he has helped her—Myrrh then resolves to defeat the Demon King. Lyon then staggers into the temple, struggling through pain; Fomortiis taunts him about his weakness, and how Eirika will be crushed. In Ephraim's route, Ephraim comforts Myrrh; he deduces that the dragon they faced was Myrrh's father, and encourages Myrrh to not hide her emotions. As Lyon enters the temple, he reflects on the time when Vigarde died—leaving him with the duty to save Grado from a devastating earthquake—and when he decided to use Grado's Sacred Stone. Lyon then readies himself for the resurrection of Fomortiis, sacrificing himself for the people of Grado.

Strategy

This section details unofficial strategies that may help with completion of the chapter. This may not work for everybody.

This section has been marked as a stub. Please help improve the page by adding information.

Provided Eirika/Ephraim is trained well enough, it may be possible to have a flying unit start next to them and carry them across the map for a speedy victory, dropping them in the patch of forest closest to Morva.
