Dark Breath (Japanese: 闇のブレス Dark Breath, or 暗夜竜の翼 Anya Dragon's Wing) is a powerful breath-type attack which was introduced in Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem. It is a recurring enemy-exclusive weapon which is used by evil dragons and is frequently seen as the weapon of final bosses: it is used by Medeus in both books of Mystery of the Emblem and the second book's remake, New Mystery of the Emblem, by Idenn in The Binding Blade, and by Garon in the Birthright campaign of Fates.
Owing to it often belonging to different wielders with different powers in different games, Dark Breath has had numerous effects over the years. In Mystery of the Emblem, as the weapon of the resilient Earth Dragons, Dark Breath halves the attack power of any foes who attack its user, a trait that was not carried over to the remake. Additionally, like all breath weapons in Mystery, it completely ignores the defense stat of human enemies, although all opposing Manaketes and dragons are immune to this effect.
Idenn's version in The Binding Blade is a magical attack with three different animations that seem to display at random, featuring Idenn breathing dark breath as the name implies, but also animations of her attacking with her tail, or her claws. Idenn's version is the only one which can only attack at melée range.
Garon's version in Fates is a physical weapon with extremely high raw power, excellent accuracy, and gives bonuses to Garon's ability to avoid attacks, but it also leaves him entirely incapable of double-attacking. Similar to The Binding Blade, it depicts Garon attacking the opponent with his wings at close range, and bursts of purple flames from his mouth at long range.

Trivia
- Dark Breath is one of two Archanean breath attacks never usable by the player, the other being Mage Breath (at least in itemized form). However, it is able to be used by the player in Fire Emblem Heroes.
- Dark Breath's weapon icon from The Binding Blade was reused in The Sacred Stones for Wretched Air.
