Ostia?! That would be ruinous! Lord Uther may be young and new to the throne, but he's dangerous. That addlepated Helman! He was a coward to the end! To betray us now, when we're so close…We only need a little more time to complete our plans for rebellion!

Darin (Japanese: ダーレン ) is the marquess of Laus during the first major arc of Eliwood's and Hector's tales in Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade and the major antagonist of that arc.
Role
Darin's ambition is to take charge of the entirety of the Lycian League, and to that end, is interested in instigating a rebellion against Ostia, the march currently serving as the league's central power. To that end, he hires the Bern mercenary guild known as the Black Fang to help him, becoming the man the morph Ephidel reports to in the process, and also attempts to convince the leaders of other marches--reportedly Helman of Santaruz and Elbert of Pherae--to join his plans of rebellion; Elbert's apparent refusal to join the rebellion eventually resulted in his disappearance. Along the way, he abandons Laus when Eliwood, Hector, and their army approach, leaving his son Erik to potentially die in the process. His first act afterward is seizing Castle Caelin, managing to deal the killing blow to its marquess Hausen in the process but his granddaughter Lyn escaping his clutches; after losing his grip on Caelin, he relocates to the Dread Isle, where he attempts to defend the Dragon's Gate while the Black Fang's leader, Nergal, attempts to perform a ceremony to bring a dragon through the gate.
Darin serves as the boss of chapter 19 (20 Hector), where he makes his last stand, but is ultmately defeated in the process. Sometime afterward, Darin dies, and his quintessence is harvested offscreen. As Erik's life was spared, Erik would eventually succeed his father as marquess Laus.
Darin is one of the bosses remanifested as morphs by Nergal in the final chapter; his morph is paired with a generic General morph in the eastern room, the fourth one opened; the player's army eventually defeat Darin's morph as well as all of the other remanifested morphs in their quest to defeat Nergal.
