FEA Dancer.png
Concept artwork of a Dancer from The Art of Fire Emblem Awakening.

The Dancer energizes allies with inspiring movement, allowing them to act again.

Unit type(s)

Infantry

Weapon(s)
  • Sword (Mystery of the Emblem, Genealogy of the Holy War, Thracia 776, Awakening, specialty in Three Houses)
  • None (The Binding Blade, The Blazing Blade, The Sacred Stones)
  • Various, including magic (Three Houses)
Skill(s)

The Dancer (Japanese: 踊り子, おどりこ, or ダンサー Dancer) is a class that first appeared in Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem, and has since been in most games in the series. The primary function of a dancer is to refresh an ally, so that unit can perform another action in the same turn. Dancers can wield swords in the Jugdral and Archanea titles and every weapon—including magic in Three Houses; in other games where they are present, they cannot fight. Dancers possess little strength, but good speed.

The refreshing abilities of the dancer class varies somewhat from title to title. Dancers can typically only refresh a single adjacent unit, but they can refresh every adjacent unit in Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War. Usually, Dancer is a basic class and cannot be promoted. However, the thief Lara from Thracia 776 can become one through a special conversation. Thracia is also the only game in the series to have generic dancers as enemies.
