— Dalsin
|
Dalsin (Japanese: ダルシン Dalsin) is a knight of Munster, and the eldest of three children from a village near Fort Kelbeth. Formerly serving Raydrik as a guard in Munster Castle's dungeon, he defected from Munster to ally with Leif upon learning that his youngest sibling, Yuvel, had been abducted in the child hunts.
Role
Dalsin was stationed as the captain of the Munster dungeon guard during Leif and Lifis's time in captivity there, and was entrusted with ensuring Leif's continued captivity until people from Conote came to collect him. When the Magi led a raid on the dungeon and freed Leif, Dalsin initially commanded the guard in opposing them and demanded they return to their cells, but had a change of heart upon learning of Yuvel's capture in the child hunts and chose to defect and ally with Leif, assisting in his escape.

Analysis
Dalsin joins you near the end of chapter 4, if you saved one of the children, Jubel, from the prison on chapter 3. Leif or Lifis can talk to him to recruit him. His high base defense helps to tank hits from enemies for this part of the game, however there are a few mages that can heavily damage him. In chapter 6, you may want to leave him behind and have him captured, because his usefulness quickly declines from that point on, and you need at least one captured unit to unlock chapter 21x. If one desires to continue using him, he should use the Ced scroll to gain a massive 30% boost to his speed growth. His promotion to General allows him to use lances indoors, a trait unique to him and Xavier. His movement as an armored knight hinders him quite a bit, and his high constitution means it is difficult to rescue him. If you have a slow playstyle, he can become one of your strongest units, but if you prefer playing fast, it's better to leave him behind.

Personality and character
Dalsin was primarily concerned by the ongoing survival of his siblings, Diana and Yuvel, and was motivated in his work to ensure their happiness; when he learned of Yuvel's abduction in child hunts, he felt he could no longer serve Munster.

Endings
Dalsin, Knight of Unwavering Resolve
Determined to protect everyday folk from bandits, Dalsin relocated to Kerberos' Gate, near where his siblings lived. He maintained a round-the-clock watch, fighting off brigands every day and night. For a time, his life was a cycle of battle. But before long, the bandit gangs that had long plagued the area around the fort were all but wiped out. Once said to be a place "more terrible than Hell itself," the fort was now called "more safe than the gates of Heaven."
