Cassius is a leader of an unidentifiable group of bandits and the boss of paralogue 8 of Fire Emblem Awakening. Cassius is first seen confronting Kjelle near a set of Dueling Grounds in northern Valm, whose sensei was recently killed by Cassius. Cassius is known to play dirty, as he took a hostage when killing Kjelle's sensei, and is said to never fight an honest duel. As Kjelle promises her sensei's widow that he will be avenged, Cassius challenges Kjelle to a duel at the Dueling Grounds--all unknowning that they were being witnessed by Chrom and the Shepherds, who give chase and eventually defeat Cassius.
