First game

Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance

The Bolt Axe (Japanese: ボルトアクス Bolt Axe) is the sole magic axe present in the Fire Emblem series, debuting in Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance. Channeling thunder powers, attacks using the Bolt Axe are fuelled by the unit's magic stat and target the foe's resistance, instead of strength and defense. In Path of Radiance only, it is also not affected by the weapon triangle for physical weapons and is neutral to swords and lances, and it is instead affected by the Trinity of Magic, having an advantage over fire magic and a disadvantage to wind magic.

The Bolt Axe appears as one of Mamori Minamoto's Carnages in Tokyo Mirage Sessions ♯FE.

Unlike other Carnages, the Bolt Axe notably has a slight difference in its skill lineup between the original Wii U version and the Encore version of the game.
