Plot

- The below plot corresponds to the use of a male Corrin. If you refresh this page, it is possible to get an alternate reading using a female variation instead.
After Corrin finds himself confused by the layout of the castle, Azura suggests having the group split up, with Corrin calling for them to regroup once they have found the stairs leading up. As Corrin finds the stairs, a strange voice speaks out and attacks him. When he regains consciousness, he is met with Gunter, who tells him to rest while he chases the attacker. Corrin refuses, and suggests that the attacker must have also been the one to kill Scarlet, recounting the same words he heard as the two were falling down the canyon. Gunter reaffirms his suspicion that the killer must be part of the group. He then mentions the flower that Scarlet pinned to her armor before she was killed. The two reunite with Azura, with Gunter being suspicious of her. Before Corrin can dwell on this, they are ambushed by Vallite forces. Soon after, the figure who killed Mikoto appears before them, revealing himself as Sumeragi, the father of Ryoma and the rest of the Hoshidan royal family. Sumeragi revels in the chance to fight with his children after they have grown strong.
When Sumeragi is defeated, he tells his children how proud he is of them. Sakura attempts to heal him, but to no avail. As he lays dying, Sumeragi consoles his children, and apologizes to Corrin for failing to protect him. Corrin recalls his scant childhood memories, saying that he knew that he loved him. Corrin also tells him that they found Mikoto prior, and Sumeragi tells him of how he and Mikoto first met, with her later escaping Valla for Hoshido taking the newborn Corrin with her. Sumeragi finally dies, and encourages Corrin that he can defeat Anankos.
Summary
After defeating Lady Mikoto, Corrin learns that Mikoto was originally Vallite royalty. The army then proceeds into the twisted maze leading to the castle.
