Black magic (Japanese: くろまほう Black magic) is a weapon type in the FES appearing exclusively in FE2 and its remake FE15. It is comprised of the game's offensive spells. Spells not exclusive to Gaiden appear as other types of magic in other games in the series. Despite the name, two black magic spells appear in other games of the series as light magic tomes. Along with white magic, black magic makes up the broader magic weapon type in the original NES release, but it is split from it in the remake.

Black magic (Japanese: 黒魔法 Black magic) is a weapon type in the FES appearing in FE2, its remake FE15, and FE16. In Gaiden and Shadows of Valentia, it comprises the games' offensive spells, and is generally analogous to other games' tome weapon type. Along with white magic, black magic makes up the broader magic weapon type in the original NES release, but it is split from it in the remake.

In Three Houses, black magic is tied to a unit's Reason skill level. Unlike in Gaiden and Shadows of Valentia, black magic is not the sole offensive weapon type, as white magic incorporates light-based offensive spells, and dark magic—also based off reason, though much rarer—includes many spells not present in either prior game. Black magic in Three Houses is generally comparable to anima magic in other games.

Reason redirects here. For the ability, see Reason (ability).
Not to be confused with dark magic.

Black magic (Japanese: 黒魔法 Black magic) is a weapon type in the Fire Emblem series appearing in Fire Emblem Gaiden, its remake Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia, and Fire Emblem: Three Houses.
