A character's birthday can be known by visiting the barracks, entering the roster menu, and obtaining the description of that same character. The birthday will be displayed as the last line of the bio on the bottom screen. If the system's clock matches one of the character's birthdays, the barracks will generate a special event, marked in red, that announces the character's birthday. This results in them getting a burst of experience, finding a random item, and gaining a boost on two random stats. Some of the characters's birthdays represent special dates. In addition, the avatar's birthday is determined by what the player chooses when starting a new game.

In the Fire Emblem series, some characters have a known birthday; in some games this has gameplay benefits and the date of the birthday itself may be referencing an event or Fire Emblem series game release date.

Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade

Creating a tactician

A character's birth month determines some of their personality traits, similar to the concept of astrology.[1]

The player chooses the birth month of the Tactician in Fire Emblem. Their birth month determines their affinity. In the Japanese release, the Tactician's affinity is determined by their birth month in combination with their blood type. This affinity determines the Tactician's bonus.

Characters' birthdays are listed as the last line of their bio on the roster, which can be accessed by visiting the barracks. Some of the characters' birthdays represent special dates. The player chooses the avatar's birthday when starting a new game.

If the system's clock matches one of the character's birthdays, the barracks will generate a special event, marked in red, that announces the character's birthday. If the barracks is visited on their birthday, that character gets a burst of experience, finds a random item, and gains a boost in two random stats.

Exactly four characters celebrate their birthday each month.

  1. "Farina: Just answer the question... What month? No wait! Let me guess... You were born... Got it! I bet... according to the standard Elibean calendar, you were born in the month of the pegasus! Am I right?
Kent: Yes. That is what my mother tells me.
    Farina: Yeah! I knew it!
Kent: And what does that mean?
Farina: I was born in the month of the archer! We have zero compatibility! I would shoot you down every time!
