The beast is a collection of types of weapon skill appearing in Fire Emblem Heroes. Like breath, bows, and daggers, their position on the weapon triangle depends on their user as opposed to the individual weapon; individual colored beasts are known as red beast, blue beast, green beast, and colorless beast.
Beast weapons were introduced in the Countdown update to coincide with the introduction of laguz to the game, and has also been used by taguel, kitsune, and wolfskin. Beast weapons all have one of three sets of inherent effects common to its particular subtype; all subtypes allow their users to make their transformation should they not be adjacent to a human ally at the start of their user phase, get a +2 boost to their Attack on the turn they complete their transformation, and revert should they be adjacent to a human ally at the start of their user phase.
There are four subtypes of beast weapons, infantry, armor, cavalry and flier. All infantry beast weapons allow their wielders to boost their damage output when activating a special skill; all armor beast weapons allow their wielders to counterattack strikes regardless of the target's range on their transformation turn; all cavalry beast weapons drop their target's Attack and Defense by four points during combat when its user initiates combat and denies its target a follow-up strike; all flier beast weapons allow their wielders to move an additional space on the turn they complete their transformation.
