— Bath, to Gwendolyn

Bath (Japanese: バース Bath) is an Ostian knight. He remained loyal to Lycia during the Disturbance of Bern and did not betray them to follow Bern, unlike some other Ostian knights, such Legance.

Role

Along with Gwendolyn and Ogier, Bath remained loyal to Lycia. They arrive on the second turn of Chapter 8 within a dead end at the map's upper-left corner. They are behind a cracked wall, so they decide to attack it to break it down and join the fight.

Analysis

This character analysis section may not be accurate to every player's experience.

Bath's HP, Strength, and Defense are among the highest in the game. Unfortunately, these advantages are overwhelmed by his disadvantages: terrible Movement, Speed, Resistance, and hit rates. His low Speed means that he will get double attacked frequently, negating his high Defense, and if he encounters a single mage, they will easily destroy him. His high attack power is only useful if he can actually hit his target, which he will struggle to do even with weapon triangle advantage. His low Movement means he has trouble even reaching enemies without assistance, and more mobile units often can't carry him due to his incredibly high Constitution. His one saving grace is that he is only one level away from promotion and the sizable stat boosts, but it's hard to justify using a Knight's Crest on him instead of one of the cavaliers. Overall, Bath is among the bottom 3 units in Binding Blade (alongside Sophia and Gwendolyn) and struggles to find any use whatsoever.

Bath's can perform a Triangle Attack alongside Bors and Gwendolyn, which results in an automatic critical hit, but it's tedious to set up since they all have low Movement.

Endings

Bath, Knight of Justice
Short: Reconstructed the divided Ostian Army.

Long: After returning home, Bath was put in charge of the Ostian military. Although devastated from the tragedies of Hector’s death and the rebellion, Bath's strict but fair leadership led the Ostian Knights to glory once again.
