The Axe Fighter (Japanese: アクスファイター Axe Fighter) is an axe-wielding basic class that debuted in Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War. It is present only in Genealogy of the Holy War, Thracia 776, and Engage, and is a counterpart to the Fighter class from other games.

Axe Fighters have different promotions depending on the game. In Genealogy of the Holy War and Engage, Axe Fighters can promote to Warriors. In Thracia 776, they promote to Mercenaries. In Engage, Axe Fighter can alternatively promote to Berserker.

Trivia

  • The battle sprite of Axe Fighters as they appear in Genealogy of the Holy War (in which they are depicted wearing horned helmets) is recycled as the battle sprite for Brigands in Thracia 776.
    • In Thracia 776, Axe Fighters use a new set of battle sprites with an identical appearance and animations to those of Sword Fighters.
