Awakening is the twenty-fourth chapter in Fire Emblem Awakening. Having witnessed Validar's hierophant become Grima, the Shepherds arrive at Mount Prism so Chrom may perform the Awakening. Standing in their way is a single wave of Risen.
Plot
- Main article: Awakening (chapter)/Script
As the Shepherds arrive at Mount Prism, Robin senses that Grima has sent Risen to interfere with the rite, and the Shepherds prepare to defeat the Risen to allow Chrom to preform the Awakening. Once the Risen are defeated, Chrom moves to the altar atop the mountain, where he presents the Fire Emblem and asks for Naga's blessing. Naga appears and Chrom is consumed in fire; she deems him worthy and grants him her power, transforming his Falchion into the Exalted Falchion. Naga informs Chrom that her power cannot kill Grima, only put him to sleep as Chrom's ancestor did before him, and speculates that Grima's own power could be used to permanently kill him. Naga reveals that Grima is located at Origin Peak, and she accompanies the Shepherds to confront him.
Summary
The evil Robin has used [his/her] life force to resurrect Grima. To stop the dragon, Chrom must ascend Mount Prism, perform the Awakening, and win Naga's power.

Trivia
- During the Awakening, Naga, Lissa, and Frederick all repeatedly refer to Grima as male, regardless of Robin's gender, and in turn the hierophant who became Grima. In this exchange of dialogue, Naga is intending to hint toward a possible role Robin can undertake when fighting Grima, a hint that can be easily lost on players using a female Avatar due to the male-oriented wording of the dialogue.
