Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn

The Arbalest (Japanese: アルバレスト Arbalest) is a rare crossbow weapon which appears only in Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn. It is the game's strongest crossbow, and like the other crossbows but unlike regular bows, it can can attack adjacent and distant enemies alike. In exchange its damage calculation completely ignores the user's strength stat and is based only on the Arbalest's own might, giving it a fixed, mostly consistent damage output no matter who uses it. The Arbalest can only be used by members of the Sniper, Marksman, Warrior, and Reaver classes, like all crossbows.

Trivia

  • The Arbalest has the highest might of all weapons available to the player in Radiant Dawn, and the only weapons with higher might are most Judge variants. However, in the Arbalest's case, this means significantly less because it does not take its user's strength into account, making each of its shots weaker compared to ordinary weapons.

Arbalest

The arbalest is a variation on the European crossbow which was first developed in the 12th century. Arbalests are much larger than ordinary crossbows, and its prod (or bow) is made of steel, and both of these elements give their shots greater force than those of ordinary crossbows.
