Araphen

Araphen is one of the marches of Lycia in Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade and Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade. This powerful march -only second to Ostia- is located in the west of Lycia, north from Pherae, and it is the nearest march to Sacae.
In Fire Emblem, Araphen is a calm land that has enjoyed a strong and long friendship with Caelin for years. However, this friendship is jeopardized due to its marquess' hatred of Sacaean people; almost twenty years before the game's events, he had fallen in love with Marquess Caelin's daughter, Madelyn, but she eloped with a Sacaen man.
In The Binding Blade, Lord Hector of Ostia calls for a war council in this march, given its strategic location. Before they can rise an army, though, they are attacked and soundly defeated by Bern's dragon units. It is unknown how many marquesses died in this attack.
Playable characters who come from this march are all commoners, and they wield a variety of weapons.
The only known ruler of Araphen features in Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade. His destiny twenty years later is unknown; however, taking into account the defeat suffered by Lycia in the first chapters of The Binding Blade, it is very likely that he was killed.
