Anima (affinity)
The Anima affinity is one of several affinities in the Fire Emblem series. It gives a minor bonus to attack and defense, as well as a decent boost to avoid and dodge. Supports that include this affinity are recommended for giving an extra edge to good characters.
The Anima affinity is present in The Binding Blade, The Blazing Blade, and The Sacred Stones.

English |
Anima |
Latin for "animating principle", often interpreted as "spirit" or "soul".[1] Note that affinity names were hidden in the localized versions of the GBA games; in the English version of The Blazing Blade, however, the Anima affinity has a string leftover from the Japanese version which labels it as "Nature" (the same name that said game uses for anima magic in item descriptions). |
Japanese |
理 |
Inner Essence. The meaning is difficult to translate into a single concise word and, among other things can be described as, reason, logic, or "the natural order of things".[2] Possibly invoking the Chinese li it is a philosophical concept relating to the "rational principle" of nature. This meaning appears to be reflected in the fact that many characters possessing this affinity trend towards more logical or "rule-following" personalities. |
