An Oasis of Magic/Script
Marth and his companions attack Khadein and are personally accosted by Gharnef, who proves immune to harm thanks to his dark tome Imhullu. Eventually, Gharnef bids Marth pursue him to Thabes if he wants to reclaim Falchion and departs. Marth seizes the castle and is telepathically contacted by the White Sage Gotoh, who explains that Gharnef was once his pupil alongside Miloah before stealing Imhullu, and he ultimately intends to betray Dolhr and conquer the world. To atone for his failures in teaching Gharnef, Gotoh directs Marth to collect the Lightsphere and Starsphere and bring them to him in Macedon so he can create the magic tome Starlight, which can pierce Imhullu's defenses.

Strategy
This section details unofficial strategies that may help with completion of the chapter. This may not work for everybody. |
Your first order of business is rolling over the Mages and Dracoknights near the starting point. Gharnef is quickly closing in on you and will likely engage on Turn 3. A well-trained Pegasus Knight, Bishop, and/or Wolf/Sedgar can use the eastern bridge as a chokepoint and weather his attacks until he gets bored and leaves at the beginning of Turn 6 - just beware the other Mage ready to back Gharnef up. More Mages start pouring out of the treasure room on Turn 5, and Dracoknights start spawning in the northeast on Turn 8. Once Gharnef departs, use a save point and start having a Thief and some escorts push east to loot the treasure room. Any halfway competent Pegasus Knight can dart into the Swarm Bishop's range and pick him off. All in all, this is a very easy map if you know what you're doing.
Trivia
- A modified version of this map appears in Chapter 9 of Mystery of the Emblem Book 2 and New Mystery of the Emblem.
