Huh? Who's Lucina? And did you seriously just ask me if I came from the future?...Why are you looking at me like that? Hello? It's me! Morgan!...Your son? Love of your life and strapping young lad and all that? Wow, you're really acting strange today. Let's go home and get you to bed. Hmm, but which way is home? Is it—Ngh! M-my head!

— Male Morgan
|
Disowned by Time (Japanese: 時の迷い子 Child lost in time) is the twelfth paralogue chapter in Fire Emblem Awakening. As a paralogue chapter, its events are not integral to the game's main storyline and can be done at the player's leisure. The chapter is unlocked after both clearing Chapter 13 and having Robin married. There are no additional requirements to reach the chapter, as the chapter connects to the area Chapter 12 took place at.
In this chapter, a youth with a case of amnesia has appeared in a set of ruins crawling with Risen, and it is up to Chrom and the Shepherds, who are searching for a treasure in the area, to protect this youth. As it turns out, the youth is the child of a Shepherd with a very sharp mind.
Plot
- Main article: Disowned by Time/Script
Chrom, Robin, and the Shepherds arrive at a ruin searching for treasure to aid them in the battle against Grima. They discover that the ruin is infested with Risen and kill them all. During the battle, the Shepherds encounter Morgan, Robin's time-displaced child from the future, who seeks to become a tactician like Robin and has also been stricken with amnesia.
After the battle, Chrom finds Naga's Tear. If Morgan survived, Robin explains to them that they are from the future, but Morgan remains uncertain and without memory. Robin assures Morgan that they will work on rebuilding Morgan's memory together, and that Morgan does not need a perfectly complete memory to save the future, as Robin's memory is also incomplete.

Character data
Note: The returning characters list only those recruited by the time this chapter is unlocked. As a paralogue chapter, there is no set timeframe in which the chapter must be taken on; thus, it is possible to have recruited more characters than the above by the point the chapter is started. The returning characters list also does not include any characters recruitable in other paralogues, as the player may not have taken on any other available paralogue chapters yet. The list also does not include any bonus units, as they are recruitable at the player's discretion.

Strategy
This section details unofficial strategies that may help with completion of the chapter. This may not work for everybody.
|
This map should generally be your first port of call after unlocking the child units, since Morgan is almost certainly going to be one of the strongest units in the game. There's plenty of water in this ruin, so make sure to bring lots of strong fliers. You should also have at least one Rescue staff user - Anna does the job quite well. Finally, don't forget a Thief - Anna does that job quite well too. Deploy Robin above Chrom and the Rescue user to Robin's right. If you want to reclass Morgan, put a Second Seal and any new weapons in Chrom's inventory.
On turn 1, Rescue Morgan, have Chrom recruit them and trade them their new gear if applicable, and pair Chrom up with Robin. Then neutralize the Myrmidon and two Mages to your party's immediate north. Begin laboring to feed as many kills as you can to Lucina and Morgan so they can both become combat gods. On turn 2, send a flier to kill the Thief who just stole your Bullion. Your secondary objective is to send your toughest flier all the way to the northwest corner of the map to intercept that Thief before he runs off with your Fortify staff - he'll escape on turn 6 or so. Generally speaking, continue to feed kills to Lucina and Morgan, have your first-generation units pick off particularly dangerous promoted units like Swordmasters and Griffon Riders, and give a wide berth to the stairs until turn 7. Once you've wiped out the mob of Risen, dispose of the boss to end the chapter.
Trivia
- If the player is using a male Robin, this chapter is the only child paralogue that unlocks upon marrying off a male character. The only other male fixed parent, Chrom, has his designated child join the party within the main plotline as opposed to a dedicated paralogue chapter.
- If one looks at the world map of Awakening and compares it to the world maps from Marth's time, it appears that this chapter takes place at the same location as Thabes. This may imply that the Ruins of Time are the remains of Thabes.
- The Naga's Tear item being located here may further support this, as Naga is said to have passed away at Thabes.[1]
