Crisis in Agustria (Japanese: アグストリアの動乱 Agustrian Disturbance) is the second chapter of Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War. In it, Sigurd rushes from Evans Castle to protect Nordion and rescue Eldigan at Agusti.
Plot
- Main article: Crisis in Agustria/Script
After Sigurd's conquest of Verdane and subsequent marriage to Deirdre, the Agustrian king dies and is replaced by his son Chagall, who launches an offensive on Verdane to curb the increasing power of Grannvale. Lord Elliot takes advantage of the situation to attack Nordion and take revenge for Eldigan's earlier victory against him, as Eldigan himself is imprisoned in Agusti for opposing the king's war. Eldigan's sister, Lachesis, pleads for Sigurd's aid, and after the Chalphy lord hears of Eldigan's imprisonment, he attacks Agustria.
During the conflict, Sigurd recruits the prince of Silesse – Lewyn – into his cause, as well as the dancer Silvia and Lewyn's protector, Erinys. He can also recruit the gladiator Chulainn after defeating him in the Evans arena.
Sigurd's offensive ends with him seizing the entire southern half of Agustria, including the capital, from which he frees Eldigan. Sigurd then promises to Eldigan that he will make peace between Grannvale and Agustria within a year, assuaging Eldigan's concerns about Grannvale attempting to conquer his homeland.

Strategy
This section details unofficial strategies that may help with completion of the chapter. This may not work for everybody.
|
Chulainn
Before leaving Evans Castle to start off the chapter, visit the arena and try to complete the entire gauntlet. Doing so will allow you to recruit Chulainn, a level 12 Sword Fighter with Luna as his personal skill. Note that he will not appear if the unit attempting the arena is using a bow, so Midir and Jamke cannot recruit him. Sigurd has the best chance of completing the arena without trouble due to his solid base stats and skills.
Castle Heirhein
The journey towards seizing Heirhein Castle, while not challenging in of itself, has a few difficult side objectives that must be accomplished if the player wishes to obtain certain rare rewards:
Lachesis and her knights
Right away on the first turn of the chapter, Nordion Castle will be attacked by Elliot and his squad of Lance and Axe Knights, where Lachesis and her three knights—Eve, Eva, and Alva—are stationed to protect. Keeping all three of Lachesis' knights alive by the end of the chapter awards you the Knight Ring, which gives a unit carrying it the Canto skill; this is the only way of getting the ring in the game, as there is no alternative method of obtaining it in the second generation if no one inherited it. Being able to reach and save the knights in the first place heavily boils down to luck, since the player needs to be reliant on them holding out their own against the numerous lance-wielding cavalry ganging up on them (whom they have weapon triangle disadvantage against due to wielding swords) and Nordion Castle is very far away from the player's starting point, meaning it's possible for at least one of the knights to die before the player is able to do anything to save them. They have decent stats all around outside of luck and high HP, but the enemies will overwhelm them over time. Rush with your mounted units and quickly defeat all the enemies. Since Midir can't counter at close range, the enemies might prioritize to attack him, which can make him usable as bait to lure the enemies away from them, but it's risky if Sigurd isn't close enough to him. Recruiting Lachesis will make her knights follow her instead, which can let her lead them away from danger, but their AI will prioritize fighting enemies in range whenever possible. And even then, this can make training her difficult since the knights can steal her kills and/or get themselves killed. Additionally, if Nordion Castle gets seized by enemies after Lachesis leaves the castle without sending one of your own units to protect it, the knights will despawn, which counts as getting them killed, disqualifying you from obtaining the Knight Ring. Be sure to heal them when possible. Ethlyn can reach them better thanks to her better movement, and if she has swapped her Heal staff with Edain in exchange for Mend, one heal with it will restore a large amount of HP.
Bargain Band
On the same first enemy phase of the chapter, Macbeth will set a group of four Brigands to raid the villages of the central forest. The northwestern-most village in particular contains a desirable item: the Bargain Band. However, that village is closest to the Brigands' starting point, and the player cannot do anything to stop them until Heirhein Castle is seized. A Brigand will reach the village to begin raiding it on turn 6, and will finish raiding it on turn 15.
Lewyn and Silvia appear in the area after Heirhein Castle is seized. If he is danced for by Silvia, Lewyn can reach the village in three turns, and can defeat the Brigand at most one turn later, so a player can reliably save the village if they seize Heirhein by turn 11. Additionally, if Lewyn activates Adept or Critical (he has a 42% chance of activating at least one), he can one-round the Brigand, so a player that seizes Heirhein on turn 12 may still save the village—if a player is willing to use the start-of-turn save to manipulate the RNG, they can reliably save the village even if Heirhein is seized on turn 12.
If Heirhein is seized after turn 12, saving the village and acquiring the Bargain Band is impossible to accomplish. If the Bargain Band could not be obtained in the first generation and inherited by a child unit, it can be obtained in Chapter 7.
Castle Infini
Erinys
After Infini Castle is seized, Chagall sends Erinys and her squad of Pegasus Knights to attack Evans Castle. If you did not leave anyone behind to guard the castle, then it is completely vulnerable to being seized by them, resulting in a Game Over. Lewyn can recruit Erinys, which makes her become playable and her knights to leave the battlefield. However, he is very likely in the Castle Infini area by the time Erinys appears, and will not be able to make it to Evans on foot in time before it is seized. Instead, have someone else use a Warp or Return staff on him to send him there. Also remember to leave someone to protect him and the castle from Erinys's squad of Pegasus Knights, like Naoise or Alec.

Trivia
- One of Genealogy of the Holy War's title screen scenes shows Evans Castle being attacked by a squad of Wyvern Riders, with one being killed by Chulainn (who is classed as a Forrest). In the actual chapter itself, no Wyvern Riders can be found, and Evans Castle is instead attacked by a squad of Pegasus Knights led by Erinys after Infini Castle is seized.[1]
