Troubadour
| ||||||
|
The Troubadour (Japanese: トルバドール Troubadour) class is a class of healers on horseback. They first appeared in Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War, in which they could use swords and staves. After appearing in Fire Emblem: Thracia 776, they lost the ability to use swords in Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade and on. They have only appeared in the above games, Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade, Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones, Fire Emblem Awakening, and Fire Emblem Fates. Usually in other games, clerics or priests take their place.
Troubadours usually have high magic and luck, since they do not need to attack. Often, they have high resistance but low defense. In Genealogy of the Holy War and Thracia 776, although they can use swords, their strength is still slightly below average, so placing them where enemies can attack them can be dangerous. In The Binding Blade, Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade, The Sacred Stones, Awakening, and Fates, since they cannot attack at all, they should be kept out of enemy attack range as much as possible.
In Genealogy of the Holy War and Thracia 776, troubadours change class to paladins. In The Binding Blade and Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade, they change class to valkyries. In The Sacred Stones, they can change class to either valkyries or mage knights. In Awakening, they can change class to either valkyries or war clerics. In Fates, they can change class to strategists, butlers, or maids.
All troubadours outside of Fates are female.
