Thoron
| ||||||
|
Thoron (Japanese: トロン Thoron) is a recurring lightning-based magic tome of considerable power which debuted in Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon & the Blade of Light. Originating as an uncategorised tome, Genealogy of the Holy War later defined it as a thunder magic. In most of its appearances, it is roughly equivalent in power and esteem to Bolganone and Tornado, generally sharing the same weapon rank and accordingly acting as a thunder counterpart to their fire and wind roles as the ultimate non-legendary spell of its kind.
In Archanea, Thoron is portrayed in a similar light to the Excalibur tome as a revered tome inherited by Ellerean of Khadein; however, unlike Excalibur and its owner Merric, Ellerean never possesses the only copies in the games and any unit can use the tome. A second copy of Thoron is also a similarly notable item belonging to Bishop Boah of Archanea; this copy passed hands through Volzhin, Camus and back to Boah via Marth during the events of Shadow Dragon, and Boah's last act in Mystery of the Emblem was to give it to Marth again.

This article or section is a short summary of Thoron. SmashWiki features a more in-depth article. |
Thoron is part of Robin's neutral special move, Thunder, in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U. When charged up for certain periods of time, it will become a stronger thunder spell when released. Arcthunder is the fourth and most powerful charging stage, achieved when Robin finishes charging Thunder for the full three seconds and the charge effect stops. When launched, it throws a large electric beam a great distance across the stage, striking multiple targets and dealing both good damage (between 10-19% per character struck) and significant knockback.
Thoron's functionality and power is altered slightly when cast through Robin's alternate neutral special moves: Thunder+'s Thoron is faster and has even greater power and range, while Speed Thunder's has a shorter beam tail and only damages foes once. As per Robin's durability mechanic, a successful Thoron consumes 8 durability points (or 10 if the alternate special move is Thunder+).
