The Grustian Expedition (Japanese: グルニア遠征 Grunia Expedition) is the first chapter in Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem.
Plot
- Main article: The Grustian Expedition/Script
One year after the War of Shadows's conclusion, Prince Marth of Altea was sent a letter by Emperor Hardin of Archanea. Hardin told Marth that a large rebellion broke out in Grust and Marth had to quell it. Since Archanea was the suzerain state over Altea, the orders had to be followed. Marth left Cain in charge of Altea and left for Grust.
Upon arriving, general Lang told Marth that they had defeated most of the rebels, with only Lorenz remaining, who was hiding Grust's prince and princess in order to help restore Grust. Jagen advised Marth to talk to the villagers and Lorenz in order to find out what really was going on.
Lorenz commanded Prince Yubello and Princess Yumina to flee with Ogma, who had come on the orders of King Mostyn of Talys, but they refused, as Lorenz couldn't go with them due to his grievous wounds. Ogma decided to find another way to help, and left in order to kill Lang. Marth talked to Lorenz, who told Marth that Hardin had become evil, and then died due to his wounds. Lang came after Marth seized the fort, and took Yumina and Yubello, despite Marth's pleas.
