First game

Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade

The Spear (スレンドスピア Slender Spear) is a rare lance-type weapon introduced in Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade. It can attack at both close and distant range, acting as an advanced and more powerful version version of the more common Javelins and Short Spears, and prior to New Mystery of the Emblem also offers a slightly enhanced critical hit rate. However, it is conversely much rarer than the two lesser ranged lances and is entirely unavailable to the player in The Binding Blade and New Mystery of the Emblem. Unusually for a lance, the Fates version of the Spear is capable of attack at only 2 range.

In Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade, Vaida wields a unique modified version of this weapon in her appearance as a boss in Chapter 24E/26H, which provides its wielder with significant stat boosts; this particular Spear is usually referred to as "Vaida's Spear" or the "Uberspear" by fan communities, is unobtainable in legitimate gameplay and as such is often sought after through use of the game's Mine glitch. When she is recruited later in the game, however, she instead wields a normal Spear which gives no stat bonuses.
