A Phantom (亡霊戦士, meaning "ghost warrior") is a special type of monster that appears in Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones. Phantoms are spawned by using the Summon skill, used by units of the Summoner and Necromancer classes. In combat, they act as temporary humanoid warriors summoned by dark magic. Only one can be summoned at a time; however, if there are multiple summoners and/or necromancers in the battle, each can summon one. When they come into battle, they have the same level as the unit who summoned them.

Phantoms use axes and they only have 1 HP and 0 defense and resistance. However, if Barrier is used, their resistance does increase slightly. They appear holding a certain type of axe, but cannot trade with other units. Generally, their low stats give them very little fighting power, and they will in fact die in one hit as long as the enemy does not miss. Therefore, they are usually used to bait in enemies or slightly weaken opponents. They cannot change class in any way.

Possible units to summon Phantoms are Ewan, if he becomes a shaman and then a summoner, Knoll, if he becomes a summoner, or Lyon, who becomes usable during the post-game Creature Campaign.
