The Onager is a model of ballista present exclusively in the two games of the Fire Emblem series taking place in Tellius. The Onager has more Might than a regular Ballista, but hit rate is where the Onager really shines--Onager has the highest hit rate of any weapon in the series, but conversely cannot deal a critical hit.
Onagers are found stationed as objects on certain maps throughout the games, and in maps where they are found can be ridden and used by any Archer and Sniper belonging to either army. Onagers are fixed to a specific tile and cannot be moved. Once the Onager's durability reaches 0, the map object does not disappear and can still be ridden, but is unable to attack owing to its lack of ammunition.
The Onager is the only non-Archanean ballista to be depicted as something other than a giant bow; in Onager's case, it is depicted as a catapult, along the lines of the Archanean Stonehoist. Due to this depiction, the Onager is the only non-Archanean ballista that does not deal effective damage against flight units.
