Moulder (モルダ, Moruda, Mulder in Japan) is a priest of Frelia who appears in Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones. He first appears in the end of Chapter 1, where King Hayden of Frelia sends him to go with Eirika's army, along with Gilliam and Vanessa. As a priest, he is quite serious and righteous.
Role
Moulder first appears in the end of Chapter 1. After Eirika decides to go into Grado territory, Hayden sadly states that he cannot spare soldiers to help. However, he does send three Frelian vassals to help, namely Moulder, Gilliam, and Vanessa. From this point on, Moulder stays with Eirika's army.

Skill set
Like all male bonus units in Awakening, Moulder has access to all base class and advanced class skills available to standard male units.
Personality and character
Moulder is a wise, righteous priest. He is always willing to help others in many situations. For example, he coaches Colm on self-righteousness and reflection on one's actions. As a priest, he has come in contact with many people, and he can determine what sort of person someone is very well. He cares a lot about those around him and acts as a sort of father. However, he takes his duty so seriously that in his A support conversation with Syrene, he even forgets about his own birthday.
Little is known about Moulder's life. He says that Vanessa reminds him of himself twenty years ago. Also, he was present at King Hayden's coronation ceremony, carrying the king's crown. He was quite nervous when Gilliam, a new recruit shouted out, "Get ahold of yourself, man!" This caused Moulder to almost drop the crown. The next day, the two met and became close friends, and have been for a "decade and a half". This places the beginning of Gilliam's service at fifteen years before the start of the game, in year 788 (the game starts in the year 803).

Endings
Moulder, Wise Counselor
After the War of the Stones, Moulder continued to serve the royal family of Frelia. His wisdom served to guide King Innes as it had served King Hayden before him.

Etymology
"Moulder" is usually a last name, one of my surnames named after trades, such as "Smith" or "Baker". "Moulder" is not a word used today, however; a "moulder" was a skilled mason. It is also spelled "Mulder" or "Molder". It can also be a verb meaning "to rot and decompose"; this is probably not an intended meaning of the character.
Trivia
- Moulder is one of the few characters that has no special endings, along with others such as Knoll.
