Monica (Japanese: モニカ, Monica) was the wife of Orson. Six months prior to the events of Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones Monica died, spurring her husband's slow descent into madness.[1]
Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones
Role
Monica is a fairly unimportant and unmentioned character until her true importance is revealed later in the game. Her importance comes from her her husband's actions resulting from her death, he betrayed his country by trying to kill its princess and siding with the invading Grado, all to get her back to him. Monica is the driving motivation behind Orson's betrayal. Though, of course, Monica is directly responsible for none of this.
Monica's reanimated corpse is present and has a speaking role in chapter 16, her appearance is never revealed to the player, though, judging by Ephraim not reacting in disgust until after she speaks may imply she was not too far decayed.[2]
Personality and character
Monica is deceased before the events of the game, and her only appearance is as a reanimated corpse, resulting in little of her character being known, though Orson did love her very much. In said appearance she is shown to have little mental function, only being able to speak a single word, "darling".
