The Mechanist (Japanese: 絡繰師からくりし Karakurisi) is an advanced, Hoshido-aligned class which was introduced in Fire Emblem Fates. One of the class change options available to Ninjas and Apothecaries, they defend themselves with yumi and shuriken. Unlike other classes, Mechanists do not wield their weapons directly, but instead their weapons are built into the giant puppet they pilot. Mechanists attack by pulling on strings that make the puppet open its mouth and launch the corresponding weapon.

In general, Mechanists have average stats all-around with no particular strengths or weaknesses, but they have high movement as a mounted class. Their most distinctive ability is their unique Replicate skill, which allows them to create one exact replica puppet of themselves which shares all of their stats, helping to reinforce their allies' ranks
