First game

Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem

The Iron Axe is one of the most basic axe-type weapon in the Fire Emblem series. Cheap and durable, it has a better accuracy than other axes. However, its main drawback is its weight; in the hands of units with low constitution and/or low speed, the iron axe may leave them too slow and susceptible to be attacked twice per turn.

The iron axe made its first appearance in Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem, and it has been in each game since then.
