Hidden items, or hidden treasure, refers to items that can be found on certain tiles on maps. They are somewhat comparable to the random items obtained from event tiles, but the hidden item obtained is always the same.

Overview

The first game to feature hidden items is Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem.

Hidden items are, for the most part, found on maps featuring large amounts of desert. Often, characters in houses or elsewhere will mention or hint that there are items hidden nearby. Items hidden in this way are often fairly rare or valuable.

Mystery of the Emblem and Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn have several items that can be found on many different maps, while the other games featuring hidden items only on desert maps. The most recent Fire Emblem series game to feature hidden items is Fire Emblem: New Mystery of the Emblem.

Finding hidden items

To have a chance to obtain a hidden item, simply have a unit stand on the spot it may be. The difficulty is knowing where these items are, and successfully picking up the item, which is semi-random.

The % chance to find hidden items, by game, is as follows:

Trivia

  • The character Stefan is recruited similarly to how one finds hidden items. A certain character (Lethe or Mordecai in Path of Radiance, and Micaiah in Radiant Dawn) must wait on a specific tile, and Stefan will appear and join the player's army.
