The Hammer is a fairly uncommon axe-type weapon in the Fire Emblem series. It is a heavy and unaccurate weapon, whose main trait is being effective against armored units, such as knights and generals.
The hammer has appeared in ten games of the series. Its debut was in Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon & the Blade of Light, and then it disappeared until Thracia 776; since then, it has been available in each game.
