Come with me, Jill. We both know that we should follow our hearts, even if it makes us traitors. We know that better than anyone. For the sake of your father, live your life without shame.
— Haar, upon meeting Jill in battle

Haar (ハール, Hāru) is a character in Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance and Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn. He appears towards the end of Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance and the prologue of Part 2 of Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn. He appears as a wyvern lord in both games. He was the second-in-command of Shiharam's wyvern platoon. Shiharam asks Haar to stay out of Chapter 20 of Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance; he obeys, though he is not sure why. After Shiharam dies, he is set on revenge. When talked to by Jill in Chapter 23, he is recruited.

Role

In Radiant Dawn, Haar first appears during the Prologue of Part 2. During this chapter Queen Elincia, Marcia, Nealuchi and Princess Leanne are attacked by a platoon of Begnion Dracoknights as Haar passes by on the way for a delivery. He can be recruited starting at Turn 4, but will leave if not talked to by Marcia, making him unavailable for the rest of the game. Afterwards, he will stay at Crimea to help protect Queen Elincia during Part 2's Last chapter.

Haar's next appereance is in Part 3 Chapter 2, where he joins Ike's army together with Nephenee, Brom, Ilyana and Heather. He can have a base conversation with Ike in which the later implies an ongoing relationship with Jill which Haar dismisses by calling her "his dead teacher's daughter, nothing more" and discuss her involvement in Daein's emancipation. After this, Haar gives Ike a Corrosion Scroll.

He can stay with Ike's army until the Judgement arrives or join Micaiah if talked to by Jill in the chapters where they fight each other, and viceversa. Haar can be selected to any of the Three different armies formed in Part 4. He can be chosen to go to the Tower of Guidance in the Endgame. There he can have special pre-battle conversations with Lekain, Levail and Sephiran.

Haar's ending states that through he was a formidable fighter, he retired from battle and instead did deliveries in Talrega. If he had an A Support with Jill, her ending can change and mention a husband, implied to be Haar.

Personality and character

Haar is generally worn out or tired and in need of sleep, sometimes refusing to fight or even move. He frequently naps wherever he is positioned, even while traveling or momments before a battle. He tends to take things calmly and almost uncaringly, almost never jumping to action by self initiative. He, however, has a strong sense of duty and honor, obbeying his commanding officer without hesitation, those being Shiharam or Ike. By the other hand, Ike himself has stated he's a mayor power in battle.

Haar seems to hold feelings for his fellow Dragonknight Jill. Thought this is never stated directly, both Ike and Jill's A Support ending with him in Radiant Dawn does suggest there is something between the two. This is further supported by the fact he can talk with Jill and make her change sides during the chapters in which the armies of Micaiah and Ike clash, and viceversa.

He also appears to be well acquaintanced in Begnion, having special pre-battle conversations with Lekain, Hetzel, Levail and Sephiran, all high ranking members of the Empire. Levail and Sephiran even comment of his platoon's bravery, his personal strenght and the time he left Begnion: 20 years before Radiant Dawn.
