Deathgoyle: Difference between revisions

(Wights and liches are on one page, so I figured why not do the same for balrogs and deathgoyles, especially given that the FE2 patch already calls the former the latter?)

The Deathgoyle (Japanese: バルログ Balrog, or デスガーゴイル Deathgargoyle) is an enemy-exclusive monster class which was introduced in Fire Emblem Gaiden and so far only appears in it and The Sacred Stones. They are a species of flying, lance-wielding reptilian monster and are a magically-enhanced variant of the Gargoyle monster species. They are classified as an advanced class and the "promoted" version of the Gargoyle. They tend to appear in the later parts of the games instead of regular Gargoyles.

As a flying class, Deathgoyles act as a monster equivalent of the playable Falcoknight, Wyvern Knight, and Wyvern Lord classes. They have high strength, speed, and defense, and with their high movement and ability to fly without being hindered by terrain, they are adept at quickly closing in and swarming the player's army in numbers. However, in The Sacred Stones, their nature as a flying class makes them vulnerable to bows and the Wind Sword. Additionally, since they have low resistance, they are easily defeated by magic.
