The Dark Knight (Japanese: ダークナイト Dark Knight) is a class that has never made an official appearance in the Fire Emblem series. While data for the Dark Knight class is present in Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem, it is never used.
The class's intended purpose is unknown, but it is speculated that it may have been implemented as a personal class for Camus,[1] who ended up being a Paladin in the finished product (as well as in his other Archanean appearances). If the class was indeed intended for Camus, it is unknown if it would have been used exclusively in his normal persona in Book 1, or if he would have also used it in his Sirius persona in Book 2.
If cheated into the game, it has a unique map sprite, but uses the Cavalier's sprite in battle. Its non-moving map sprite will not display on most maps, the first book's fifth chapter being an example of one in which it does display. The Dark Knight cannot dismount, so if it is indoors, it cannot move.
