“ | Manster had a great number of children seized and sent to the shrine in Miletos. I was unable to prevent it... I'm no hero, sir. I'm a coward if anything. | ” | — Ced, on Seliph's praise of his efforts |

Ced (セティ Sety) is the prince of Silesse, the son of the errant King Lewyn and the late Queen Ferry, and a full-blooded descendant of the Wind Crusader for whom he was named. Raised in Silesse during its occupation by the Grannvale Empire, when his mother fell gravely ill he departed Silesse to find his missing father, to bring him to see her before she died. His way took him through Manster, where he witnessed the suffering of the people and swore to do what he could to help. He joined the Magi, a then-struggling band of warriors devoted to fighting the oppression and helping the people, and led them to greater success in opposing the Manster occupation and in saving children from the child hunts. He was later involved in the revolution armies of both Leif and Seliph, if briefly with the former.
Canonically as defined by Thracia 776, Ced is the son of Lewyn and all of this is true; however, in the gameplay of Genealogy of the Holy War, Ced's father can be chosen just like any other character, and the game is non-specific about his father. If Ferry was not married in the course of the first generation, Ced's role is filled by Hawk.
Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War
Role
Ced was in Manster Castle at the time of Seliph's revolution army sweeping the Manster District. By the time Seliph's army had slain Bloom at Conote, Ced had successfully wrested control of Manster, only to find that Thracian knights were approaching the castle. Encouraging the people of Manster to flee for Conote, Ced remained behind to defend Manster from the assault led by Princess Altena and Coruta. In this effort, he was approached by Seliph, who recruited him into the revolution force.
Shortly thereafter, Ced noticed Lewyn staying close to Seliph. He confronted Lewyn about his actions and abandonment of his family, and was enraged by Lewyn's seemingly unconcerned attitude about Ferry and her death.

Fire Emblem: Thracia 776
With the Magi, Ced led an invasion of a Manster prison. He tasked Brighton, Machyua and Lara with rescuing those imprisoned on the dungeon floor, while he and his student Asvel searched for imprisoned children. He instructed Asvel with, once confirming the children were safe, finding and assisting Leif. During this time he was approached by Karin, deployed to find him, who informed him of Ferry's death. He nonetheless declined Karin's request to return to Silesse, but instead entrusted her with the Ced Scroll.
Later, as Leif's army marched on Manster to confront Raydrik, Ced led the Magi to ensure the safety of the Manster people, providing critical aid to Leif's army. He was approached by Saias, who offered to escort the people to safety; though initially unsure of Saias's intent, he accepted and entrusted Saias with the Blagi Sword to give to Leif. During the ensuing fight, he was approached by Leif, who thanked him for his efforts in the Manster prison; when Leif lamented his inability to compare to Ced or Seliph, Ced reassured him about his worthiness to the Noba bloodline, then joined his forces.

Genealogy of the Holy War
If Lewyn was his father
In Silesse, which was for a long time under the control of the Empire, Ced, who returned to his country, succeeded to the throne, and devoted himself with all his strength to the reconstruction of the devastated country.
At his side,
His sweetheart, <wife>,
The Pegasus Knight Fee,
Smiled at him, filled with hope.
A beautiful land, and people who loved peace.
The Kingdom of Silesse, which Lewyn protected at the risk of his life, finally came here to completion.
