Arcthunder

Arcthunder (Japanese: ギガサンダー Gigathunder) is a potent thunder tome which debuted in Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn and is present only in it and Awakening. As a counterpart to Arcfire, Arcwind and Shine, it acts as the game's third "stage" of thunder magic, superior to Thunder and Elthunder and surpassed in turn by Thoron.

This article or section is a short summary of Arcthunder. SmashWiki features a more in-depth article. |
Arcthunder is part of Robin's neutral special move, Thunder, in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U. When charged up for certain periods of time, it will become a stronger thunder spell when released. Arcthunder is the third and penultimate charging stage, achieved when charged up long enough for the electric aura surrounding Robin to turn red: when launched, it moves relatively slowly forward and, if it strikes an enemy, snares them in an X-shaped lightning explosion which deals 10% damage and high knockback.
Arcthunder's functionality and power is altered slightly when cast through Robin's alternate neutral special moves: Thunder+'s Arcthunder has improved power and knockback, while Speed Thunder's Arcthunder travels faster and covers a shorter distance. As per Robin's durability mechanic, a successful Arcthunder consumes 5 durability points (or 4.5 if the alternate special move is Thunder+).
