Algol is a Plegian troop captain, a Grimleal priest, and the boss of chapter 21 of Fire Emblem Awakening. Algol leads a band tasked with blocking the escape route Chrom and the Shepherds were using to escape from Plegia Castle after negotiations between Chrom and Validar quickly broke down. Even with long-range backup, Algol eventually falls to the Shepherds.
An alternate Outrealm version of Algol also appears as a boss of the DLC chapter Death's Embrace. This version of Algol is the leader of an evil cult, a commander of a band of Risen killing entire villages, sparing only the fiercest of resistance, only to later take them to a temple and killing them there. Algol claims that he's creating "works of art" from the villagers, turning some of them into the next wave of assassins. In front of Chrom and the Shepherds, he unveils his "masterpiece"--a Risen Chief. This version of Algol is also eventually felled by Chrom and the Shepherds; if Algol was felled quickly enough, the Avatar will recover an Einherjar card of Est from the temple.

Trivia
- As the Death's Embrace iteration of Algol serves a non-Grimleal role, this version of Algol is given different help text, "An inhabitant of the Outrealms who practices dark rituals in the name of 'art'."
